This safari will cover Samburu game Reserve located within the lands of the colorful Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai, and harbors a number of wild life species rarely found elsewhere. It shall also cover Sweetwaters the 24,000 acre rhino sanctuary is located in typical savannah grasslands interrupted by “whistling thorn” shrubs, acacia trees and lush green vegetation along and also famous with the Chimpanzees.
Day 1: Nairobi – Sweetwaters (Ol-Pejeta Game Sanctuary)
After breakfast depart for Sweetwaters arriving with a short game drive in time for lunch and check in at Tented Camp / Lodge have lunch and relax. Later in the afternoon game drive across the Park which is a unique resident wildlife species like the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Blue legged Somali Ostrich. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge/camp.
Day 2: Sweetwaters- Samburu Game Reserve
After your breakfast from the camp we drive to Samburu the open savannah of Samburu Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, you will be accommodated in the narrow stretch of palms by the Ewaso Nyiro River which provides water for the animals. After lunch you will have some time to relax before you go for an evening game drive till darkness start to set in. Proceed to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve
Today you will spend the full day spent exploring the park where you will leave with packed lunch. The highlights of Samburu game reserve is the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the reserve. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.
Day 4: Samburu – Nairobi
Early morning game drive return to your lodge/camp for breakfast, after breakfast check out of the park then drive to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Drop off at your respective hotel or Airport.
