4 Days Mt. Kenya Sirimon Trek
(Sirimon In – Sirimon Out)
Day 1: Nairobi / Nanyuki / Sirimon Park Gate / Old Moses Camp
Meet at your hotel at 0600hrs and transfer to Nanyuki arriving at 1000hrs for packed picnic lunch as you proceed to Sirimon Park Gate where you start the trek after formalities at the gate. Have an easy trek in the afternoon to help acclimatization. Arrive at your camp for check in and rest and spend the night in the high altitude mountain cabin having done about 5 hours walking.
Overnight: Old Moses Camp (3300m)

Day 2: Old Moses Camp / Shiptons Camp
Breakfast followed by ascent through the Sirimon track to Likii North Valley below the subsidiary peaks of Teleki and Sendeyo, two ancient parasitic vents of the main peaks. Climb out of the North Valley into Mackinder’s Valley, one of the broadest valleys on the mountain with many giant groundsels. Arrive at Shiptons Cabins where you spend the night
Overnight: Shiptons Camp (4,300m)

Day 3: Shiptons Camp / Summit Attempt (4,985m) / Shiptons Camp
Have an early wakeup call at 0200hrs so as to reach the peak by sunrise for rewarding views. Ascend to the highest peak Pt. Lenana up the north face which is little used by tourists. This is about 4 hours stiff walking to the summit and is the most challenging bit of the climb. Admire and photograph the beautiful scenery on arrival at the peak then start the descent back to camp where you have breakfast then spend the rest of the day at leisure resting at the peak.

Day 4: Shiptons Camp / Old Moses Camp / Sirimon Park Gate / Nairobi
Breakfast followed by 4 hour trek out of the park, stopping shortly at Old Moses Camp for lunch and rest. Proceed to park gate after lunch and be met by your transport back to Nairobi with a short stop at Nanyuki Town. Proceed to Nairobi arriving in the evening.
