11 Days Masai Mara & Nakuru Horse Riding Safari
Day 1: Nairobi / Masai Mara

Meet and greet at preferred hotel and transfer to Wilson Airport to board a 1030hrs charter to Masai Mara. Arrive at Siana Springs Airstrip after about an hour after a scenic flight over the Kikuyu highlands, the Great Rift Valley and Loita Hills. Meet with your guide at the airstrip for transfer to camp for check in and lunch. Lunch is followed by an evening ride across the plains.

Day 2: Masai Mara

Spend the full day exploring the remote but scenic plains which are abundant in wildlife all year round. You may drive, walk or ride from camp into the plains. Picnic lunch is carried in saddle bags on the days that camp is moved

Day 3: Masai Mara

Break camp early and start off with the longest ride of the trip as you move from the camp and cover at least 50km by horseback. You will ride across the rolling plains and approach the Mara ecosystem. Animals which are easy to spot include elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and gazelle. Arrive at your camp in the evening, check in for rest and dinner.

Day 4: Masai Mara

Spend the full day with morning and evening rides from camp into the game park, with options of driving for some good photography opportunities. Driving can be incorporated for an up-close view of the lion, elephant, buffalo and other animals which are not approachable on horseback. Evening return to camp for rest, dinner and overnight

Day 5: Masai Mara

Another exciting day in the plains riding westward across the Mara plains and reaching the Mara River at the park boundary at one of the famous wildebeest crossing points; Afterwards head southwest across the Mara triangle where you have picnic lunch. Break away and ascend the escarpment and proceed to camp located inside the forest and overlooking the Mara ecosystem.

Day 6: Masai Mara

Morning ride to the top of the escarpment to enjoy rewarding views as you watch animals across the plains. Descend the escarpment on foot along some cattle tracks and enjoy picnic lunch under acacia trees at the foot of the escarpment. After lunch, ride back through the Mara Triangle at the foot of the escarpment then ascend on a game trail. Evening return to camp for rest and dinner

Day 7 & 8: Masai Mara

Breakfast is followed by descent to the escarpment riding across the park then breaking for lunch en route. Proceed to campsite set on the banks of the Mara River where you can visit the nearby hippo pools as you sip away your evening drink.

Day 9: Masai Mara / Great Rift Valley

Early breakfast followed by morning drive to Nakuru and to the Deloraine House located within the Great Rift Valley for your final two nights in Kenya. These two nights will not be spent in tents but in the comfort of the luxurious house.
Overnight: Deloraine House
Meal plan: Lunch, dinner, breakfast
Day 10: Nakuru

An early morning ride before breakfast is optional to those who could make it to wake up before sunrise. Breakfast is then followed by day trips to either Lake Nakuru or Bogoria famous for their flamingos. These can be arranged and booked directly from the Deloraine House with a picnic lunch included.

Meal plan: Lunch, dinner, breakfast
Day 11: Nakuru / Nairobi

Breakfast at leisure followed by drive back to Nairobi as you admire beautiful scenery; arrive in Nairobi after 3 hours drive and enjoy a special farewell lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant giving you an opportunity to meet with some members of staff for tour feedback and general comments.
