A short 6-day tour combining travel to Amboseli National Park at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro and famous for the largest herds of elephants. Then you traverse the Great Rift Valley on the shores of Lake Naivasha for a scenic sunset boat ride and walk on Crescent Island teeming with herbivores. The tour climaxes with the visit to Masai Mara National Reserve which perhaps is most famous for its wildebeest migration and large prides of lions and all “Big Five”, and may be visit a Maasai village.

Day 1: Road transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Pick up from your hotel or airport in Nairobi. Road transfer to Amboseli National Park (50km, 4hrs) where you will arrive in time for lunch.. Game viewing with the immense grandeur of Mt Kilimanjaro in the background. Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, 5895m Kilimanjaro, is one of the most popular of Kenya’s national parks. Amboseli National Park provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro which, at 5,896 meters, is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Against this magnificent backdrop roam vast herds of elephant accompanied by lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle hippo and wildebeest. There are also over 400 species of birds, all manner of reptilian, flora and fauna and some of the most soul-searing views in Africa. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp, L, D.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park Game drives

Full day in Amboseli with game drives in the morning and afternoon. Major attractions at Amboseli National Park include great views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Views of Mount Meru, observation hill which allows an overall view of the whole park especially the swamps and elephants, and contemporary Maasai culture and indigenous lifestyle. All meals and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp, B, L, D.

Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha located in the Great Rift Valley

After breakfast, you are driven to Lake Naivasha in time for lunch at your comfortable lodge, located on the shores of the lake (350 km – approximately 5 hours). You will take a sunset boat ride to see hippos and walk on Crescent Island infested with animals like zebra, giraffe, antelopes etc. Dinner and night the lodge, B, L, D.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, you now drive through The Great African Rift Valley and Narok Town. Arrive in time for lunch at your tented camp to include siesta. An afternoon game drive will follow to explore Hemingway’s country and Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and other animals of the same order. The accent here is on the Masai people and the fabulous wealth of wildlife, bird life, and natural flora to be found in the fabled Masai Mara National Reserve. You will take an afternoon game drive, being the best time to see the cats at hunt and also watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at Ol Moran Tented Camp, B, L, D.

Day 5: Full Day in Masai Mara With morning and afternoon game drives

Enjoy an early morning game drive with further opportunities to see the superb wildlife, followed by breakfast at the lodge, or take an early morning hot air balloon ride over the Mara followed by a ‘bubbly’ bush breakfast (optional extra). A second game drive will take place in the late afternoon or alternatively opt for a full day game viewing to explore its immense wildlife, B, L, D.

Day 6: Return to Nairobi after an exciting safari

An early pre-breakfast game viewing drive followed by breakfast. Return to Nairobi by road (270 km – approximately 6 hours). Drop off at your hotel or at the airport to proceed with your onward travel arrangements, B.
