Lake Nakuru Day Tour
Highlights: Exciting day tour which takes you for a visit to one of the great rift valley lakes – Lake Nakuru National Park for wildife viewing and photography as well as birding. The safari starts and ends in Nairobi with possibility of extension and spending the night in one of the lodges / camps in the vicinity. Lake Nakuru is one of the country’s well established rhino sanctuaries in Kenya.
Itinerary:
Early departure from Nairobi at 0600hrs with picnic lunch and drive to Lake Nakuru (which is roughly about 3hrs away); arriving by 0900hrs for a morning game drive in the scenic park for a chance to spot and photograph various kinds of animals. You will also visit the scenic observation hill or baboon cliff where you will see the lake from the view point. Lake Nakuru has for the longest time been known as the flamingo lake, but recently, the number of flamingos has greatly reduced to just a few because of rising water levels which make it hard for the birds to feed on algae. These birds have since migrated to other lakes such as Bogoria, Naivasha and Amboseli. Spend the day inside the park then exit at 1500hrs for a drive back to Nairobi arriving in the evening. On arrival in Nairobi, you are transferred back to your preferred location within the city.
